Under funding from DOE’s SHINES program, Austin Energy and Doosan GridTech have created a distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) that maintains grid reliability while also enabling energy loads to be delivered at the lowest possible costs when there are high penetration levels of distributed PV generation. The goal is to demonstrate an energy storage fleet management and DER solution that offers a credible pathway to a system levelized cost of energy (SLCOE) for solar when augmented by storage and other DER management options.
