Under funding from DOE’s SHINES program, Austin Energy and Doosan GridTech have created a distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) that maintains grid reliability while also enabling energy loads to be delivered at the lowest possible costs when there are high penetration levels of distributed PV generation. The goal is to demonstrate an energy storage fleet management and DER solution that offers a credible pathway to a system levelized cost of energy (SLCOE) for solar when augmented by storage and other DER management options.

Our webinar explores Austin SHINES experiences, data and lessons learned. Participants will learn about:

• The economic model created to calculate the value of holistic controls that coordinate DERs
• How the DERMS integrates and optimizes DERs at several levels along the utility value chain
• How key drivers of the residential DER program performed during the recent demonstration phase
