118 Days: The Hidden Cost of Affordable Housing Verification

WEBINAR ON DEMAND

For most affordable housing applicants, the biggest obstacle to getting housed isn't their eligibility, but the verification process designed to confirm it.

New research from NYU's Furman Center studied 64,000 applications across 101 buildings and found a median of 118 days to complete income and asset verification, a 77% rejection rate, and half of all applicants abandoning the process before it even begins.

Multifamily Housing Dive is bringing together the researchers behind that study and the innovators driving automation in affordable housing to talk about what’s driving this and what the industry can do about it.

What you'll learn:

  • Why verification friction is a compliance risk and an operations problem
  • Where applicants drop off and what the data says about why
  • How operators are cutting verification from weeks to minutes inside their existing workflows
