The need for stable, high-quality, cold-chain-free sampling has grown alongside clinical research complexity and increasingly decentralized clinical trials. Using desiccated, stabilized blood samples can support whole genome sequencing and pharmacogenomic analysis without cold-chain transport, helping broaden inclusion and lower costs in genomic research.

In this webinar, experts discuss the downsides of approaches like saliva samples and venipuncture, and the role of remote blood collection in expanding access to genomic testing, clinical research, and personalized medicine. Highlights include:

  • How remote finger-stick blood collection removes cold-chain logistics barriers and improves access for patients in remote regions or with limited mobility.
  • The primary limitations of dried blood spots and saliva for NGS-based applications, including analyte stability and contamination risks, compared with finger-stick whole blood collected using the truCOLLECT® Solution.
  • What pharmacogenomic (PGx) data generated from truCOLLECT-collected DNA reveals about drug metabolism and its potential to inform more personalized treatment decisions.
